Atlético Cancels Danna Paola; Carter-Vickers Doubtful

Atlético Madrid canceled Danna Paola’s halftime concert due to her support for Real Madrid, disappointing many fans looking forward to the performance. Meanwhile, Celtic’s defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is doubtful for the upcoming match against Borussia Dortmund after suffering a toe injury and missing the previous game. These developments highlight the ongoing tensions in football rivalries and the challenges teams face with player fitness as the season progresses.

Atlético Cancels Danna Paola’s Concert Over Real Fan Ties

Atlético Madrid had arranged a halftime concert with Danna Paola to add excitement to the upcoming Madrid derby against Real Madrid.

Mexican singer Danna Paola was set to perform at Civitas Metropolitano as part of the entertainment for the Madrid derby.

Atletico cancels Danna concert

In an unexpected twist, according to SPORT, Atlético Madrid reportedly canceled Danna Paola’s concert because of her support for Real Madrid.

Danna Paola recently revealed her support for Real Madrid during a podcast with David Broncano.

In the conversation, Danna shared that her boyfriend was a devoted Real Madrid fan, and she was as well. She even boldly sang the Real Madrid anthem in front of Broncano, a fan of Atlético Madrid.

When Broncano questioned her choice to sing the anthem, Danna responded, “Because I’m a Real Madrid fan!” She then predicted a 2-1 victory for Los Blancos in the upcoming derby this weekend.

Danna’s admission and prediction did not sit well with Atlético Madrid, leading to the cancellation of her concert at Civitas Metropolitano.

Many fans who were looking forward to halftime entertainment from Danna Paola may not be pleased. It would have been intriguing to see if Real Madrid had extended an invitation for her to perform during the return match at Santiago Bernabéu.

Unfortunately, concerts at the Bernabéu have been suspended for now due to complaints from local residential groups.

Carter-Vickers Doubtful for Celtic’s Trip to Dortmund

Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers will be unavailable for Saturday’s match against St Johnstone and is uncertain for the Champions League encounter with Borussia Dortmund.

Carter-Vickers missed last weekend’s Premier Sports Cup victory over Falkirk due to a toe injury and will be sidelined once more in Perth.

Manager Brendan Rodgers stated: “Callum will miss (Saturday), he’s just got pain on his big toe, in the join there. So we just have to look at it each game.

“He’d been playing with it for a little while but we have got to try and manage it now because he was in pain in the Bratislava game. So, hopefully, it will settle down quite quickly, and then we’ll see where he’s at for Tuesday.

“It’s difficult to tell. Our concentration is on this game, really, and then we’ll see where he’s at over Sunday and Monday.”

Rodgers is confident that the injury won’t need any significant treatment.

“It’s not that; it’s just the tolerance of pain,” he said. “He’d gone through a lot and pushed him through a lot, but it’s not getting any better and he was having to go through too much pain really.

“He’s a tough character, Cam, but we just felt that it’s obviously one of those ones that, with rest it, will self-correct.

“But there comes a point where you could just see he wasn’t quite at the level that he would want to be at and I would want him to be at, and when it’s at that point you want to take him out and let him recover.”

Full-back Alistair Johnston will make his return in Perth after recovering from a minor injury and completing a week of training.
