Bayern Munich has sparked speculation about Harry Kane’s potential return to Tottenham while also revealing their position on Mathys Tel’s transfer. With Kane’s future still a topic of interest, Bayern’s stance suggests they may be considering options for the England captain’s long-term replacement. Meanwhile, Tel, who has shown promise at Bayern, could be a key part of their future plans, with the club taking a proactive approach ahead of the January transfer window.
Bayern Munich Hints at Harry Kane’s Tottenham Return
Tottenham spent £65 million on Dominic Solanke as Harry Kane’s replacement, but fans Ange Postecoglou and Daniel Levy would welcome the England captain back without hesitation.
Postecoglou acknowledged this when a young fan questioned him during the summer, stating: “Can I buy Harry Kane back? Well, it’d be great if I could. The beauty of Harry is that everything that he’s done at this football club will remain forever, even though he’s not with us now. He’ll always be part of this football club.”
Tottenham reportedly holds a buyback clause granting them first priority to re-sign Kane if the chance arises. With Kane just 47 goals away from Alan Shearer’s Premier League record, many believe he could return later in his career to pursue it.
Before departing, he surpassed Jimmy Greaves to become Tottenham’s all-time leading scorer.
Kane missed the chance to end his trophy drought last season as Bayer Leverkusen went unbeaten in the Bundesliga, securing both the league and cup titles.
Bayern are on track to secure Kane his first career silverware this season, leading the table by three points after nine games.
Bayern might have hinted at Kane’s potential Premier League return and a reunion with Tottenham. According to Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Bayern has explored signing Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres.
Gyokeres has attracted significant interest, netting 43 goals in 50 matches last season and already scoring 23 in just 17 appearances this season. Several Premier League clubs have scouted him, with Bayern now also showing interest.
Plettenberg said: “FC Bayern have inquired about Viktor Gyokeres and gathered information, but no further action has been taken yet. Nearly all top European clubs have already made similar inquiries in recent weeks and continue to do so.
“Bayern plan to continue closely monitoring his situation. The 26-year-old striker is expected to leave Sporting no later than in summer. As revealed, he is permitted to transfer for a fee between €60million and €70million.”
If Bayern are targeting Gyokeres, it’s unlikely they would spend heavily on a player to remain on the bench, suggesting they may be seeking a potential replacement for Kane in the near future.
Bayern Munich Reveals Stance on Mathys Tel Transfer
Evangelos Marinakis will have no hesitation in giving Nuno Espirito Santo funds for the January transfer window, as he has proven his ability to manage a budget effectively.
Nottingham Forest secured Nikola Milenkovic for £12 million, which seems unbelievable in retrospect. Additionally, Elliot Anderson was brought in for only £35 million.
Alex Moreno is another transfer often overlooked by fans but has been just as crucial, as his impressive performances have pushed Ola Aina to the right.
Nottingham Forest has been linked with a player named Mathys Tel.
Bayern Munich Shares Stance on Mathys Tel’s January Transfer
Mathys Tel is versatile, capable of playing on either wing and has already made seven appearances for Bayern Munich’s first team this season.
However, only a handful of these appearances have been as a starter, and at 19, regular playing time is crucial for his development.
Curiously, Bayern Munich’s position has been disclosed ahead of the January transfer window.
