Bayern’s Rising Star Aims for First Germany Start

Aleksandar Pavlović has experienced a rapid rise at Bayern Munich over the past year. Since making his debut under Thomas Tuchel last season, the 20-year-old has continued to thrive and deliver strong performances at the highest level. Now, he is eager to make a significant impact with the German national team.

Pavlović was included in Germany’s provisional squad for Euro 2024, but illness from tonsillitis forced him to miss the tournament. However, he had already earned his debut for Germany during the pre-Euro preparations earlier in the summer.

Pavlović’s next goal at the international level is to secure a spot in the starting XI under Julian Nagelsmann. Given his impressive form at the club level, his first start for Germany seems imminent. In an interview with the media this week (via iMiaSanMia), Pavlović emphasized that he is putting in the effort to catch Nagelsmann’s eye.

“My aim is always to want to play. But in the end, it’s the coach who decides. I can only do my best in training and recommend myself; then we’ll see.” said Aleksandar

Germany will face the Netherlands and Bosnia & Herzegovina during the current international break. Pavlović is expected to play a significant role, though it remains uncertain whether Julian Nagelsmann will give him a starting spot in either of these matches.

Pavlović’s Market Value Rises After Strong Season Start

Following a frustrating summer with Germany, Pavlović has come back strong this season. His consistent performances under Vincent Kompany have seen his market value climb steadily. As per the latest update from Transfermarkt, Pavlović is now valued at €50 million. This rise in value is a testament to both Pavlović’s talent and Bayern’s role in his rapid development into a top-tier player.

Pavlović has ensured that João Palhinha will have to wait for regular starts at Bayern. The Portuguese midfielder joined the club at the beginning of the summer, expected to be a first-choice starter. However, strong performances from Joshua Kimmich and Pavlović have led to Palhinha’s gradual introduction into the starting XI.

Bayern have done well to secure Pavlović’s future. The 20-year-old midfielder signed a new contract lasting until 2029 during the summer transfer window. The club hopes Pavlović will become a key figure in the team’s core for years to come. As a German talent, he serves as an ideal example for players coming through Bayern’s academy. The club relies on developing top-tier players from their youth system to complement the high-profile signings made in the transfer market.

Jhon Durán Could Have Played for Bayern in the UCL

Jhon Durán played a key role in Unai Emery’s well-executed strategy that led to victory over Bayern Munich during the German club’s most recent Champions League match in England. However, in an alternate scenario, Durán could have been wearing Bayern’s red for that game.

Journalist Eduardo Burgos (via @iMiaSanMia) reports that the Colombian forward was highly sought after during the summer transfer window, particularly in Germany and France. Both Bayern Munich and PSG showed strong interest in signing the Aston Villa striker, with Durán coming close to making the move. The same report suggests he favored a transfer to Germany.

Clearly, the move never materialized. But why? Aston Villa blocked Durán’s transfer to Bayern Munich after coach Unai Emery labeled him a future star. Recognizing his potential, Villa ensured the transfer never went through. Fast forward a year, and Durán played a pivotal role in Aston Villa’s shock victory over Bayern Munich, contributing significantly to ending the German club’s 41-game unbeaten streak.
