Kehl Gives Dortmund Injury Update Before Celtic Match
Sebastian Kehl has updated the injured players for Borussia Dortmund ahead of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League match against Celtic.
Dortmund will participate in the Champions League at the Westfalenstadion on Tuesday evening, facing Celtic. The Scottish giants could present a significant challenge for Nuri Sahin’s team, as they have had a strong start to their season.
Dortmund Gives Injury Update Before Celtic Clash
The Black and Yellows were already missing the injured Gio Reyna and Marcel Sabitzer for their Bundesliga match against VfL Bochum on Friday. Additionally, Jamie Gittens had to leave the game after sustaining what looked like an injury.
However, Sebastian Kehl has shared a positive update on Gittens’ condition ahead of Tuesday’s match against Celtic. “Jamie had cramps, but it shouldn’t be anything serious. We hope that everyone will be available on Tuesday. Because we will need them.”
The BVB sporting director also addressed Sabitzer’s injury following Friday’s match against Bochum. “Marcel is injured and, unfortunately, hasn’t been able to train for the last two days. Nevertheless, we hope that he will be fit again to play on Tuesday.”
Borussia Dortmund may also see Gio Reyna return to the squad on Tuesday, which would be a significant boost for the team. The talented playmaker sustained a groin injury while on international duty with the United States earlier this month, raising concerns about his fitness for upcoming matches. However, after diligent recovery efforts, he is now nearing full fitness and could be available to contribute against Celtic.
In their previous Champions League opener against Club Brugge, Gittens emerged as a game-changer for Borussia Dortmund. Coming off the bench, he immediately scored a crucial brace that helped secure the victory. His performance showcased his talent and highlighted the depth of Dortmund’s squad, excited fans about the potential of Reyna and Gittens working together on the field.
