Pavlović Tops Bundesliga in Passing, Musiala Eyes Barca

Pavlović has emerged as the leader in passing in the Bundesliga, showcasing his exceptional vision and technical skill in the heart of defense. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala is eyeing a return to Barcelona, with speculation growing about his potential move back to the Spanish giants. Both players are generating significant buzz in European football, with Pavlović’s consistency at the back and Musiala’s attacking flair setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.

Pavlović Is The Bundesliga’s Top Passing Midfielder

Bayern Munich’s Aleksandar Pavlović made his mark in the Bundesliga last season under Thomas Tuchel. The former Bayern ball boy quickly gained a reputation as a tough midfielder, picking up six yellow cards in 19 matches. However, as the season went on, Pavlović showcased that he was much more than just a combative presence.

As Joshua Kimmich shifted to right back to address defensive gaps, Pavlović stepped up as the team’s main playmaker in midfield. He ended the season with an impressive 95% pass completion rate for short and medium-range passes and a remarkable 82% success rate for long passes.

In the 2024/25 season, Pavlović has set a new standard.

This season, only three Bundesliga players have a higher completion rate, all of whom are defenders:

  • Patrick Erras, Holstein Kiel (95%)
  • Niklas Süle, Borussia Dortmund (95%)
  • Jonathan Tah, Bayer Leverkusen (94%)

Pavlović has started eight out of nine matches for Bayern, with his consistency in possession and midfield play being key to earning the trust of Vincent Kompany and Julian Nagelsmann.

Musiala Remains Out for Stuttgart Game with Injury

Bayern Munich forward Jamal Musiala is still injured and will miss Saturday’s Bundesliga match against Stuttgart.

“He won’t be in the squad, “Bayern coach Vincent Kompany commented on Musiala’s situation on Friday, noting that he has been sidelined with a hip injury.

The 21-year-old Musiala has not featured since Bayern’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the Champions League on October 2. Two days later, Bayern confirmed that the forward would be “out for the time being.”

Kompany stated he wasn’t certain if French defender Dayot Upamecano would be ready for the Stuttgart match. If Upamecano is unavailable, Eric Dier or Leon Goretzka could step in alongside Kim Min-jae in central defense.

Stuttgart, who finished as runners-up last season, has had an inconsistent start this year. However, Sebastian Hoeness’ side thrashed Borussia Dortmund 5-1 and is expected to be one of Leverkusen’s top challengers once again.

Bayern remains unbeaten in six Bundesliga matches under Kompany and sits atop the table on goal difference, ahead of Leipzig, which plays Mainz earlier on Saturday.

Bayern Munich Star Races Against Time to Be Fit for Barcelona Clash

Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala is doing everything possible to regain fitness and be ready for the club’s upcoming clash with Barcelona.

According to German football insider Kerry Hau, who offered an update on the latest developments behind the scenes in Munich on Friday.

Musiala has been sidelined for the past two weeks due to a hip injury.

After missing Bayern Munich’s recent match against Eintracht Frankfurt, the 21-year-old was also considered unfit to play in Germany’s Nations League games against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands.

Earlier this week, Musiala returned to the pitch but has not yet received clearance to rejoin group training with Vincent Kompany’s squad.

According to Kerry Hau on Friday, the midfielder increased his training intensity, starting with “a short session with the ball” followed by “intensive sprints.”

However, Musiala is not expected to be declared fit in time for the match against Stuttgart this weekend.

Instead, the player is focusing on next Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Barcelona in the Catalan capital.
