This development could potentially see the Old Trafford side bolster their attacking options as they continue to build for the future.

Iheanacho May Exit Sevilla Just Three Months After Joining

Kelechi Iheanacho, the former Manchester City and Leicester City striker has struggled since joining Sevilla in the summer. Just a few months after his move to Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium, reports from Estadio Deportivo suggest he could be on his way out.

Man United Make Shock Erik Ten Hag Transfer U-Turn

Erik ten Hag was reportedly keen on re-signing Danny Welbeck for Manchester United before his dismissal as manager at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman was fired on Monday after United’s worst-ever Premier League start. Currently, they are 14th in the table, following an eighth-place finish last season, their worst since 1990.

Ten Hag received strong backing from Ineos this summer, signing Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, Noussair Mazraoui, and Matthijs de Ligt. According to reports from The Athletic, former United striker Welbeck was also being considered for a move to Old Trafford at that time.

They report that the Brighton forward was considered a strong candidate to replace Anthony Martial, who departed on a free transfer. Key club figures reportedly gave serious consideration to offering him a contract.

At the time, Welbeck’s contract with Brighton was expiring, which presented United with the opportunity to sign him on a free transfer. However, the move never happened, as Ten Hag’s uncertain position as manager reportedly led to hesitation about proceeding with the transfer.

Earlier this year, 33-year-old Glenn Murray made his intention to stay at Brighton clear, signing a new two-year contract shortly after the January transfer window closed. Since then, he has proven his quality by scoring six goals across all competitions for the Seagulls, demonstrating that he is still capable of operating at the Premier League’s top level.

Danny Welbeck began his youth career with Manchester United at the age of 11, eventually breaking into the first team and making 142 appearances before being transferred to Arsenal in 2014. Following a brief stint with Watford, Welbeck joined Brighton in 2020, bringing his wealth of experience to the south coast club.
