Barcelona Targets Cordero, Star Earns Call-Up, Praise

Barcelona is making moves to sign Malaga prodigy Antonio Cordero, with the deal progressing as the club tracks the young talent closely. Meanwhile, Barcelona’s Marc Casadó has earned his first senior call-up to Spain’s national team, joining teammates like Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, and Pedri. Although Gavi is fit again after a long injury layoff, the Spanish midfielder has not been called up for the upcoming international break, with Barcelona carefully managing his recovery. Luis de la Fuente has commended the club for handling Gavi’s rehabilitation, ensuring his gradual return to form.

Barcelona Set to Secure Malaga Prodigy Antonio Cordero

Reports suggest Barcelona are nearing a deal for Malaga talent Antonio Cordero after tracking the young player for a while.

Malaga has confirmed that Barcelona reached out about Cordero during the summer, but they had hoped the young talent would stay and sign a new contract.

Diario Sport now reports that Barcelona have made significant progress in their pursuit of Cordero, with the possibility of him joining in the January transfer window and linking up with Barca Atletic.

Barcelona opted not to spend 3 million euros on Cordero last summer but may now sign him for free as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

Cordero is now represented by Pini Zahavi, whose strong relationship with Joan Laporta could prove beneficial, as he also works closely with Hansi Flick and Robert Lewandowski.

The 17-year-old is emerging as Malaga’sMalaga’s standout talent, with three goals and three assists to his name this season.

Barcelona Star Earns First Senior International Call-Up

Barcelona prodigy Marc Casadó has been included in the senior Spanish national team for the first time, announced on Friday.

Casadó has spent the past few weeks cementing his place as one of the first choices in new Barcelona manager Hansi Flick’s lineup.

The 21-year-old has formed an impressive deep-lying midfield partnership with Pedri, excelling both with and without the ball.

Casadó’s impact in the attacking third has been particularly noticeable in the past two weeks, as he has recorded an assist in three of his last four matches.

As mentioned earlier, this afternoon, the young talent’s excellence was acknowledged by his country.

This comes after it was confirmed that the midfielder had joined Barcelona teammates Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, and Pedri in earning a spot in Luis de la Fuente’s Spain squad.

This is Casadó’sCasadó’s first-ever senior international call-up.

Luis de la Fuente Praises Barcelona for Player Recovery

Spain head coach Luis de la Fuente has declared his team for the forthcoming games against Denmark and Switzerland. As usual, Barcelona players feature prominently, with Marc Casado, Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, and Pedri among those called up.

Gavi, a regular in the Spain squad but sidelined since last November due to injury, is now fully fit and back on the field. There had been discussions about whether De La Fuente would include the talented Barcelona midfielder in the squad.

However, common sense prevailed, and Gavi was not included in the Spain squad. With Barcelona carefully managing his minutes, the last thing they want is for his recovery to be expedited.

Luis de la Fuente has discussed Gavi’s recovery, praising Barcelona for the excellent job they’ve done managing his rehabilitation. As quoted by Mundo Deportivo, he stated:

“Gavi is in the natural process. He was injured a year ago. His progress is exceptional. He is full of energy. The club is doing spectacularly well. We are looking forward to seeing him well and, even more so, seeing him safe. For the national team, it is very important. We are meeting deadlines.”

In Barcelona’s latest Champions League match against Red Star Belgrade, Gavi played the most minutes of his season so far. Hansi Flick is gradually increasing his role, and he is expected to be in even better shape after the international break.

If everything goes according to plan, Gavi should be ready to join the Spanish national team for their March 2025 international break. However, that is still some time off, and it’s best to take it one step at a time.

If all goes well, Gavi should be fit to join the Spanish national team for the March 2025 international break. However, that’s still a while away, so it’s important to take things as they come.

We’ll have to wait and see how Gavi’s situation develops. It’s positive that he has the chance to rest and recover during the international break, and there’sthere’s hope he’ll secure a more prominent role in the team moving forward.
