Carragher’s Advice Might Affect Trent’s Real Madrid Move

Jamie Carragher’s recent advice could make Trent Alexander-Arnold reconsider his potential move to Real Madrid. Carragher has cautioned that joining Madrid might not be well received by current players, particularly Dani Carvajal. Meanwhile, Real Madrid will avoid facing their former player, Juanmi Latasa, in their upcoming match against Real Valladolid. Latasa, who joined Valladolid from Real Madrid earlier this month, has not been registered with La Liga yet, so he is ineligible to play. Real Madrid’s strategy and Carragher’s warnings add intrigue to Trent’s future and the dynamics of the upcoming match.

Jamie Carragher’s advice to Trent Alexander-Arnold could make him reconsider a move to Real Madrid

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been warned that joining Real Madrid could stir up some tension within their squad.

With his Liverpool contract expiring next summer, there’s a lot of talk about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future at Anfield. Arne Slot is not urging Trent to rush into any decisions about his contract. Alexander-Arnold’s future is not the only one uncertain; key players Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah also have contracts that end in June 2025.

Despite the ongoing contract situation, Trent Alexander-Arnold is focused on his performance with Liverpool for the 2024/25 season. This, however, opens the door for Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti to begin talks with him starting in January. Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has warned that Trent’s potential move to the Bernabeu might not be well received by at least one of the club’s current star players.

“It’s a case of, ‘What do you want for the rest of your life?’ Does Trent want to stay here for the rest of his career, or does he want to go and try something else?

“And if he does, when Real Madrid come calling, it’s very difficult for any player. I totally get that dilemma he’s in. He’s in the dream position as a footballer, 25 years of age, one year left on your contract; he could see how this year goes; he can wait until Christmas. I’m sure there will already be some dialogue with other clubs; let’s be honest, that’s how it works. It will be interesting how it plays out.”

The Express reports that Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher weighed in on the situation, advising Trent to be cautious about a move to Madrid. Carragher remarked, “I think [Dani] Carvajal would have something to say about it as well, with people talking about Trent. He’s only won the European Cup six times and the Euros in the summer, so I don’t think he’d be too happy about it.”

Real Madrid will avoid facing their ex-player in the match against Real Valladolid

Real Madrid kick off their first home game of the 2024-25 season on Sunday, welcoming Real Valladolid to the Santiago Bernabeu. After a disappointing draw against Mallorca last weekend, Carlo Ancelotti’s team is determined to bounce back and is heavily favored to win.

Valladolid will come to Madrid with confidence after their opening victory over Espanyol. Paulo Pezzolano is expected to stick with the same lineup that played at the Estadio Municipal Jose Zorrilla. For the second matchday in a row, he will be without summer signing Juanmi Latasa.

According to Marca, Latasa, who moved to Valladolid from Real Madrid earlier this month, still needs to be registered with La Liga. As a result, he will not be able to participate in Sunday’s match against his former club.

It’s disappointing for Latasa and Pezzolano that the 24-year-old cannot feature. Valladolid will hope to have him available on Wednesday when they host Leganes, although it’s yet to be determined whether that will be possible.
