Real Madrid Eye €10M Defender and Euro 2024 Winner

Real Madrid are reportedly targeting two key players for the summer transfer window: a €10 million-rated South American defender and a Euro 2024 winner. The young defender, who has impressed with his performances in Argentina, is seen as a potential addition to strengthen the squad, while the Euro 2024 winner is being eyed to further bolster the team’s options. With multiple prospects on their radar, Real Madrid’s strategy for the upcoming window remains to be fully revealed.

Real Madrid Eye Euro 2024 Winner for Summer Move

Real Madrid’s shortage of depth at center-back has been highlighted again this season.

With David Alaba still sidelined by his ACL injury and Jesus Vallejo out of favor, Carlo Ancelotti has had to depend on the pairing of Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger, occasionally turning to Aurelien Tchouameni as a makeshift defender when necessary.

As a result, Real Madrid has prioritized signing During the summer transfer window, a new center-back with several players already singled out as potential targets.

Aymeric Laporte Remains a Player of Interest

According to AS, Real Madrid continues to have a strong interest in Aymeric Laporte, the former Manchester City defender currently playing for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

Laporte, who was an integral part of the Spain squad that won the UEFA Euro 2024, had been linked with Real Madrid during the summer as well, but nothing came of it.

Recent reports suggest that the Merengues still consider him a potential target for January if they opt to bring in a new center-back.

Although the plan to sign a new defender in the winter has cooled, Laporte remains a viable option to reinforce the defense for next season.

The interest in the 30-year-old arises from his extensive experience in Spanish and European football, along with the fact that he wouldn’t occupy a non-EU spot in the squad. Additionally, the defender is keen to leave Saudi Arabia.

According to the report, Ancelotti approved the potential signing of Laporte last summer, meaning his arrival would be welcomed by the coaching staff.

However, Laporte would have to significantly reduce his current €25 million annual salary if he were to join Real Madrid.

Real Madrid Targets €10M-Rated South American Defender

Real Madrid plans to sign a new central defender in the summer of 2025 after facing injuries and a lack of depth in the position for the second consecutive season.

With Nacho Fernandez departing, Jesus Vallejo out of favor, and David Alaba’s recovery from his ACL injury taking longer than anticipated, Carlo Ancelotti has been forced to rely on Eder Militao and Antonio Rudiger as his primary center-backs.

Youngster Joan Martinez sustained an ACL injury during pre-season, while Jacobo Ramon has also dealt with muscle problems.

As a result, Real Madrid has decided to reinforce the center-back position in the summer, with several targets already identified.

Rumors linking Real Madrid to players like Vitor Reis, Castello Lukeba, and Aymeric Laporte have been circulating for a while, but a new name has recently emerged on the Spanish giants’ radar.

Valentin Gomez Grabs Real Madrid’s Interest

According to AS, Real Madrid has identified Velez Sarsfield prospect Valentin Gomez as a potential option to strengthen their defense for the upcoming season.

At just 21 years old, Gomez has established himself as a regular in Velez’s defense, making 98 first-team appearances for the Argentine club.

The young defensive prospect has also earned ten caps for the Argentine Under-20 national team.

The report states that Gomez has already attracted the interest of Argentine heavyweights River Plate and Boca Juniors. Now, it seems Real Madrid have also recognized his progress.

The 21-year-old’s status as a left-footed defender is likely to attract the attention of the La Liga champions. Additionally, his value is estimated at around €10 million despite having over two years remaining on his contract.

As previously noted, Real Madrid is also considering other options, including Laporte, Lukeba, and Reis. Therefore, it remains to be seen which direction Los Blancos will take next summer.
