Two young stars from Barcelona are making headlines this season. The 21-year-old player has received a call-up to the national team, marking a significant milestone in his career. Meanwhile, the 18-year-old has been gaining the trust of coach Hansi Flick, showcasing his talent and determination. Both players are rising, highlighting Barcelona’s commitment to developing youth talent.
21-Year-Old Barcelona Star Gets National Team Call-Up
The October international break is approaching, and FC Barcelona has just one remaining match against Alaves before their players head off to join their national teams. Barcelona aims to secure another victory before the break, as many players will be away from the club for the next two weeks.
As previously mentioned, Spain has announced its squad for the two matches during this break. A key highlight is the return of Pau Cubarsi, who rejoins the national team after a significant absence.
As previously reported, Spain has unveiled its squad for the upcoming matches during this break. A notable highlight is the return of Pau Cubarsi, who is back in the national team after a considerable period away.
However, this doesn’t guarantee that all these players will stay with Barcelona. According to SPORT, this is particularly relevant for Marc Casadó, who has been included in Spain’s U-21 squad for their upcoming matches during the international break.

Marc Casadó is returning to the Spanish national setup after five years, joining the U-21 squad for upcoming matches against Kazakhstan and Malta. His previous appearance for Spain was with the U-17 team.
Another Barcelona midfielder, Pablo Torre, stays on the squad after playing for Santi Denia during the last break. However, the notable absence of Fermin López is noticeable as he continues his recovery from injury. Fermin was called up to the U-21 team during the September break.
These two matches are vital, as they could decide the U-21 team’s qualification for the 2025 European Championship. Consequently, this will provide a valuable learning experience for Casadó, as he may face significant competitive pressure while playing in a team very different from Barcelona.
The matches are set to take place on October 10th against Kazakhstan and October 15th against Malta.
18-Year-Old Barcelona Star Earns Hansi Flick’s Trust
This season, many young players have started to find opportunities at Barcelona. The club has limited resources and cannot sign new players, so it has had to depend on its youth. Luckily for Barcelona’s young talents, this has created a significant opportunity for them.
Hansi Flick has given numerous new players opportunities this season. Several debutants have made their mark, showcasing a wealth of promising talent. Thanks to their emergence and the new coach’s tactical brilliance, Barcelona has appeared quite strong this season.

However, not all players have had the same opportunities or recognition. One example is Hector Fort, the 18-year-old Spanish fullback, who appears to have lost significant prominence this season compared to his previous campaign under Xavi Hernandez’s leadership.
However, rather than giving up, the player has consistently worked to earn Hansi Flick’s trust. Fortunately for him, this effort appears to be paying off. As noted by SPORT, Fort seems to be steadily gaining Flick’s trust and attention with each game, progressing little by little.
After appearing in the last four consecutive matches, Fort’s situation at the club is improving. Before the game against Valladolid, which Barcelona won decisively, Fort likely could lose his prominence entirely.
However, after the final whistle of that game, Hansi Flick made a heartfelt gesture towards Hector Fort. The hug demonstrated a coach who understood his player’s frustrations. Since that moment, Flick has been much more inclined to give him additional opportunities. As a result, Fort’s playing time and overall confidence have noticeably increased.
Fortunately for Fort, he can play as both a left and right-back. While Gerard Martin may be the top choice to fill in for Alejandro Balde if necessary, Fort is an ideal option to replace Jules Kounde should the need arise on that side.
