Arsenal’s Calafiori, Merino, Tomiyasu Train; Dembélé Out

As Arsenal gears up to face Paris Saint-Germain in their upcoming UEFA Champions League clash, they have received positive news regarding player availability. Riccardo Calafiori, Mikel Merino, and Takehiro Tomiyasu participated in the training, boosting the team’s hopes as they prepared for the match. However, they will be without Ben White, who has missed the last two games due to a groin injury. On the other hand, PSG will be missing Ousmane Dembélé, a crucial player for the team this season, but was excluded from the squad following a disciplinary issue after a heated exchange with manager Luis Enrique.

Calafiori, Merino, Tomiyasu train; White absent

On Tuesday, Arsenal will face Paris Saint-Germain in their second Champions League group-stage match. The return of three players from injury, Riccardo Calafiori, Mikel Merino, and Takehiro Tomiyasu, is a significant boost for the team, instilling a sense of hope and optimism ahead of this exciting clash.

PSG will be without Ousmane Dembélé, a key player for the team this season. His absence, due to a disciplinary issue following a heated exchange with manager Luis Enrique, will be keenly felt.

Losing one of their key players is a significant setback for the French club. Still, Arsenal may have Riccardo Calafiori, Mikel Merino, and Takehiro Tomiyasu ready to play.

The Italian defender sustained an injury during the intense 4-2 victory over Leicester City on Saturday when he landed awkwardly on his knee in the game’s final moments. However, he is now prepared to return, providing a crucial defensive boost for manager Mikel Arteta.

Merino and Tomiyasu have not played for Arsenal this season, as the summer signing was injured during his initial training session after joining from Real Sociedad.

The adaptable Japan international defender suffered an injury before the Gunners embarked on their pre-season tour, and his return will be highly beneficial at this time.

Ben White was absent from training, having missed the last two matches because of a groin injury.

The 26-year-old played through the pain against Manchester City and seems to have worsened the injury.

Arsenal will miss Martin Odegaard, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Kieran Tierney for the match. However, manager Arteta remains hopeful for their swift return, instilling a sense of optimism about the team’s future.

The Gunners started their Champions League campaign with a scoreless draw against Atalanta. They will now aim to secure all three points against the French champions.

PSG confirms Ousmane Dembélé out for Arsenal match

Paris Saint-Germain has officially announced that Ousmane Dembélé (27) will not be included in the squad for their upcoming UEFA Champions League match against Arsenal. This news is a significant blow to the French club, considering Dembélé’s pivotal role in their current season.

Dembélé has been a standout player for PSG, sitting at the top of Ligue 1. The talented France international has appeared in all six league matches for Les Parisiens, showcasing his skills by scoring four goals and providing four assists. His contributions were particularly notable in the recent 3-1 victory against Stade Rennais, where he started the match and registered an assist, helping his team secure a crucial win.

However, reports from L’Équipe surfaced earlier on Monday, indicating that the former Barcelona winger had been involved in a heated confrontation with manager Luis Enrique following the match against Rennes. This altercation seems to have prompted the Spaniard to take disciplinary action, resulting in Dembélé’s exclusion from the squad set to face Arsenal.

Despite Dembélé’s absence from the lineup at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, Vitinha may make an appearance. The midfielder is included in the traveling squad, and his presence could provide PSG with some much-needed depth as they prepare for this important clash.
