Liverpool & Chelsea Eye €20m Bid for Star; PSG Joins Saga

Liverpool and Chelsea are both set to bid €20 million for a talented player from a struggling club, with Paris Saint-Germain also entering the race, joining Barcelona and Real Madrid in monitoring the situation. As both Premier League giants keep a close eye on the saga, Liverpool, in particular, remains alert to the developments, with PSG’s interest adding further competition for the player.

Liverpool & Chelsea to Bid €20m for Star from Struggling Club

The talented Frenchman has stood out in Ligue 1 with his skill, though he’s faced occasional off-field issues and inconsistent performances.

With Lyon’s struggles and a provisional relegation, Cherki is now a prime target for bigger clubs, according to reports from ESPN and others.

Fichajes reports that Liverpool and Chelsea are eyeing a €20m move for Cherki from Lyon, although OL will likely demand a higher fee.

Rayan Cherki Transfer: Should Liverpool and Chelsea Take the Risk?

Cherki may not be the easiest player to manage, but with the right approach, he could be a valuable asset to any attacking lineup.

At 21, he has the potential for a bright future in football if he stays focused and dedicated, making him a strong candidate to eventually replace Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge.

Their playing styles share many similarities, and Chelsea fans will surely be thrilled to see someone with that kind of flair back on the pitch, as it’s been a while since the club had an icon like him.

Liverpool, on the other hand, will be eager to sign reinforcements as there is uncertainty surrounding star forward Mohamed Salah, whose contract expires next summer.

The Egypt international is no longer getting any younger, so he may be inclined to seek a fresh start elsewhere for the final years of his career.

If Cherki joins, he could bring a similar spark to Liverpool’s attack, making this an intriguing situation to follow, particularly if Lyon are relegated.

Liverpool on Alert as PSG Joins Barca, Real in Saga

Achraf Hakimi is said to be close to a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain, though, as is typical in football, nothing is confirmed until the deal is finalized.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano stated last month that PSG and Hakimi are finalizing details like contract length and salary. Meanwhile, the Parisians may still be exploring options to bring in competition for Hakimi.

Fichajes reports that Real Madrid are targeting Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract runs out in June 2025.

TEAMtalk reported earlier this month that Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also interested, but Real Madrid are confident they have the best chance of signing him if he chooses to leave Liverpool.

PSG Still Linked with Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold

TBR Football reports that Liverpool are prepared to make Alexander-Arnold the highest-paid English player in the Premier League if he signs a new contract. Meanwhile, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and PSG are all keeping a close eye on the situation.

Defensa Central reported earlier this month that Liverpool are willing to sell their right-back in January for €50 million (£42 million or $54.3 million), a high asking price given he could depart on a free transfer in just a few months.

It will be intriguing to see how Liverpool respond if Alexander-Arnold rejects the reported contract extension offer.
