Man Utd Draw Up €70m Bid for PSG Star Amid Concerns

Manchester United are said to be readying a significant €70 million (£58.6m / $76.7m) bid for Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, as rumors surrounding Joshua Zirkzee’s future continue to swirl, according to reports.

According to Fichajes, Manchester United is targeting Kolo Muani and is prepared to make a strong push to sign him in 2025. The club is closely monitoring the French forward’s situation, as he has struggled to playtime at PSG this season, even with Kylian Mbappe’s departure to Real Madrid in the summer.

The Red Devils have prepared a £58.6m bid for Kolo Muani, believing it will be sufficient to persuade PSG to sell. However, the report does not specify whether the offer will be made in January or next summer.

Fichajes reports that PSG are open to considering reasonable offers for the 25-year-old, as he has not lived up to expectations in Paris, paving the way for potential transfer discussions between Manchester United and the Ligue 1 club.

PSG acquired Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt for a massive €95m (£79.5m / $104m) in September 2023, following his impressive 23-goal, 17-assist performance in 46 matches the previous season. However, Luis Enrique’s team is eager to recover a substantial portion of that investment to fund future signings.

Man Utd May Seize the Opportunity Following Enrique’s Decision

Man Utd has been presented with another chance to sign Kolo Muani after initially showing interest in him during the summer of 2023.

Man Utd had expressed interest in the 23-cap international but ultimately chose to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta instead.

Kolo Muani is part of the new wave of French talent at PSG, but Enrique prefers to use Goncalo Ramos or Desire Doue as his central striker.

Kolo Muani is capable of playing as a winger on either side, but he will find it difficult to displace Bradley Barcola or Ousmane Dembele in the starting lineup.

Interestingly, Man Utd’s reported interest in Kolo Muani comes at a time when there’s speculation surrounding Zirkzee possibly leaving Old Trafford sooner than expected.

Zirkzee joined Man Utd from Bologna in the summer but has struggled to make a notable impact since scoring the winner against Fulham in his team’s opening Premier League match of the season.

Italian reports have suggested that the Dutchman could depart from Man Utd as soon as January. However, sources have told TEAMtalk that if an exit occurs, it is more likely to happen next summer rather than this winter.

However, TEAMtalk can confirm the Italian reports that Juventus and AC Milan are closely monitoring Zirkzee’s situation.

Man Utd has been searching for a more experienced striker than Hojlund and Zirkzee for a while, and Kolo Muani fits that profile.

However, Man Utd fans might be concerned as to why Enrique and PSG are willing to let him go after just signing him in the summer of 2023.

Man Utd News: Chelsea Pursuit, Tuchel’s Request

Meanwhile, TEAMtalk has revealed that Man Utd have made Chelsea’s outcast Ben Chilwell a key target to strengthen their left-back position in January.

Under pressure, manager Erik ten Hag has had limited use of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia recently, as both have been sidelined with long-term injuries.

Chilwell has been left out by Chelsea’s new head coach Enzo Maresca, and Man Utd believe they can capitalize on this situation to secure the Englishman in a favorable deal.

In other news, it’s reported that Thomas Tuchel has already chosen his first Man Utd signing should he replace Ten Hag.

According to the Spanish press, Tuchel has “demanded” that Man Utd officials target Barcelona for center-back Ronald Araujo.

Man Utd has previously been linked with Araujo, but only for the defender to sign an extension with Barcelona.

However, Dan Ashworth and his team have received indications that an €80m (£67m / $87.7m) bid for the defender could be accepted next year.
