PSG Set to Drop Dembélé vs Arsenal and Consider Fine

Paris Saint-Germain is making significant roster decisions ahead of their match against Arsenal. Reports indicate that Ousmane Dembélé will be dropped for non-injury reasons. Along with his exclusion, the club may impose a financial penalty on the winger for not respecting team obligations. These developments come amidst high expectations as PSG navigates a crucial period in the UEFA Champions League, raising questions about team dynamics and player conduct as they prepare to face a formidable opponent.

PSG Set to Drop Another Player vs Arsenal for Non-Injury Reasons

France-based journalist Matt Spiro reports that Paris Saint-Germain will feature Fabian Ruiz, Warren Zaire-Emery, and Joao Neves in midfield against Arsenal, even with Vitinha back to full fitness.

Vitinha has performed exceptionally for PSG and was declared fit before Tuesday’s match. However, he is reportedly being sidelined to make way for more prominent players to help the team address Arsenal’s set-piece danger.

Arsenal has been outstanding with set pieces lately, and given that Vitinha is just under 5’8″, it’s easy to see why there are concerns about his capability to handle much taller opponents.

Arsenal will be encouraged by the news that PSG is excluding a player of Vitinha’s caliber shortly after discovering that Ousmane Dembele will also be absent from the match.

Dembele did not make the trip with PSG for the match despite being fit to play. The winger disagreed with manager Luis Enrique over the weekend and is being disciplined by being left behind.

Regarding injury absences, PSG has only a few players out. Goncalo Ramos (ankle injury), Lucas Hernandez (ACL injury), and Presnel Kimpembe (Achilles injury) are all sidelined for the long term, and none were expected to participate in this match.

Their entire squad is as follows: Donnarumma, Hakimi, Marquinhos, Fabian, Asensio, Doue, Vitinha, Lee Kang-In, Kolo Muani, Mayulu, Nuno Mendes, Barcola, Zaire-Emery, Beraldo, Skriniar, Safonov, Zague, El Hannach, Mbaye, Pacho, Arnau Tenas, and Joao Neves.

PSG May Fine Ousmane Dembélé After Arsenal Omission

Ousmane Dembélé (27) has already been left out of Paris Saint-Germain’s squad for the UEFA Champions League match against Arsenal. However, things may take a turn for the worse for the France international, according to a report from RMC Sport.

The reasons behind Dembélé’s exclusion from the squad for the Arsenal match are still unclear. L’Équipe reported that the winger had a heated exchange with manager Luis Enrique following Friday’s 3-1 victory against Stade Rennais. However, the PSG manager has dismissed that claim.

He did suggest that Dembélé didn’t “respect [his] obligations towards the team.” This explanation is somewhat unclear, particularly considering Dembélé’s importance to Les Parisiens at the beginning of the season. Nonetheless, his exclusion speaks volumes.

Alongside the disappointment of being absent from such an important match, RMC Sport has reported that the former Barcelona winger could potentially face an even more severe penalty. The publication suggests that Paris Saint-Germain might withhold a portion of the forward’s monthly “ethical bonus,” which could significantly impact his earnings and overall financial situation.

While this notion has been raised previously, it is crucial to understand that the ultimate decision regarding any disciplinary actions will rest with Luís Campos and Luis Enrique. Their judgment will play a vital role in determining the course of action for Dembélé and how the situation will be managed within the club. The decision may set a precedent for how PSG handles similar situations, emphasizing the importance of player conduct and team cohesion. At the same time, they aim to achieve in the cutthroat football environment. Ultimately, the ramifications of this situation extend beyond Dembélé himself, affecting the dynamics of the entire team as they prepare for upcoming challenges.
