Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly preparing to spend €100 million on a Chelsea summer target while also keeping a close eye on Marcus Rashford. Although the season got off to a rough start for the Manchester United star, Rashford has shown signs of improvement in recent weeks, with notable performances including goals and assists in the Carabao Cup and Europa League. PSG, having previously targeted Rashford, is said to still be interested in securing his services, though Rashford has expressed no desire to leave United, regardless of any offer.
PSG Set to Spend €100m on Chelsea’s Summer Target
Samu Omorodion has made an impressive start to the 2024-25 season with FC Porto, netting seven goals in seven matches. His strong performances may attract attention from other top European clubs.
Paris Saint-Germain may target a No. 9 next summer, as the Randal Kolo Muani deal has stalled, with transfer rumors now circulating.
As a result, Fichajes reports that the Parisians have begun closely tracking Omorodion, viewing him as a potential future star to spearhead their attack in the years ahead.
Additionally, the report indicates that PSG may prepare an offer nearing €100 million, a sum Porto would likely accept given the player’s immediate influence on the team.
This amount was close to what the capital club paid for Kolo Muani in 2023 when they secured the player from Eintracht Frankfurt. Nonetheless, the transfer hasn’t worked out so far.
Omorodion has been a highly sought-after player in recent months, with Chelsea close to signing the young talent. However, the deal fell through due to significant issues in finalizing the 20-year-old’s contract, according to The Athletic.
If Kolo Muani and PSG fail to improve their current situation, the Ligue 1 club is likely to target a striker next year who can align with manager Luis Enrique’s tactical system.
Paris Saint-Germain Targeting a Move for Marcus Rashford
Paris Saint-Germain is steadfast in its efforts to Marcus Rashford despite the Manchester United star’s rocky start to the season.
After being one of Manchester United’s standout performers in Erik ten Hag’s first season, Rashford’s form took a downturn in the previous campaign.
Although the beginning of the current season suggested more of the same, the performance of England internationals has significantly improved in recent weeks. He scored against Southampton, netted a brace, and provided an assist against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup. He followed that up with a goal and an assist at FC Porto in the Europa League. As Rashford begins to rediscover his best form, reigning Ligue 1 champions PSG have once again set their sights on him.
TEAMtalk reported that sources have revealed PSG is once again contemplating a move for Rashford.
“Paris Saint-Germain have renewed their interest in Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, but the hurdles that blocked a summer transfer for the winger still remain in place,” the report read.
“Despite United’s reluctance to sell the 26-year-old, who signed a contract until 2028 with the Old Trafford side last year, TEAMtalk sources understand that the Ligue 1 team are still considering swooping for Rashford next year,” the article continued. “PSG, who held talks with the England ace this year but didn’t reach an agreement, are keen to strengthen their attack in 2025. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that the French giants go back to talking to the player to evaluate the possibility of a transfer.”
Earlier this year, it was reported that PSG planned to make a huge bid for Rashford during the summer, but the move never materialized.
Nevertheless, this had little impact, as The People Person shared reports stating that Rashford was not interested in leaving United, regardless of the terms of any potential offer.
