Ex-Real Madrid Star Out for AC Milan, Cassano Warns Inzaghi

Ex-Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic will miss AC Milan’s upcoming match at the Bernabeu, adding to the team’s challenges. Meanwhile, former Milan and Real Madrid forward Antonio Cassano has issued a stern warning to Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi, criticizing the team’s recent performances and stressing the need for improvement, especially ahead of their crucial upcoming clash with Napoli at the top of the Serie A table.

Ex-Real Madrid Star Out for AC Milan at Bernabeu

AC Milan received a major boost ahead of tonight’s Champions League match against Real Madrid, with star striker Tammy Abraham declared fit to play.

Abraham’s presence could prove valuable, particularly as Rafael Leao’s relationship with manager Paulo Fonseca has soured. As a result, Milan will gladly embrace any attacking option available.

Sadly for the Rossoneri, they will have to do without an attacker who knows the Santiago Bernabeu well: Luka Jovic.

Luka Jovic Ruled Out of the Match Against Real Madrid

Jovic will miss the chance to face his former club as he is not included in AC Milan’s Champions League squad.

Milan may have already considered this, as Jovic has played little football this season, appearing in only three league matches.

The Serbian, a former Real Madrid player, joined Milan in 2023 for just half a million. He had a solid debut season, netting nine goals across all competitions.

However, this time, Jovic has seen very little playing time, primarily due to an injury that has kept him out of the last five league matches.

Jovic’s knack for getting into great attacking positions could have been valuable for the Rossoneri. In fact, a strike partnership between former Real Madrid forwards Jovic and Alvaro Morata might have boosted Milan’s chances of success.

Jovic would have had the perfect chance to make an impact against his former club.

The Serbian signed with Real Madrid in 2019 for a substantial €63 million fee. However, his stint at the Bernabeu was plagued by underwhelming performances and injuries.

He scored just three goals in 51 competitive appearances for Real Madrid before ultimately departing the club permanently in 2022.

Ex-Milan & Real Madrid striker warns Inzaghi

In his recent appearance on the Twitch channel Vivaelfutbolreal, as reported by FCInterNews, Cassano criticized Inter’s performance against strong relegation contenders.

Lautaro Martinez scored with a precise header from Federico Dimarco’s cross, leading the Nerazzurri to a slim victory on Sunday.

However, Inter’s performance was deceiving.

After squandering several clear opportunities before and after halftime, they came close to losing two points in the final moments.

Fortunately, VAR intervened to save them, ruling out Venezia’s last-minute equalizer for a handball.

Even though they closed the gap to Napoli to just one point, Inter should have performed much better.

Cassano thinks Inzaghi is intimidated by Antonio Conte.

“Scudetto? There is pressure on Inzaghi; if he doesn’t win, he’s out: that’s what I think,” he said.

“Inzaghi has a ‘fear’ of Conte because he knows he is always lurking.

“Either he gets a +20 lead by February and can decide to play the Primavera, or he is worried.”

Antonio Cassano Sends a Warning to Inter Milan’s Simone Inzaghi

Cassano was unimpressed by Inter’s performance against Venezia.

“It should have ended 7-0, but then it’s a match where you risk conceding a goal to Oristanio at 0-0 because you don’t score.

“At the last second, you can’t complicate your life after already dropping points in previous matches.

“That incident happened. Did you see the handball? We simple fans didn’t see the right images.

“I didn’t understand if there was contact.

“In any case, despite a thousand issues, Inter finds itself just one point behind Napoli, with the chance to overtake them next Sunday.

“They are by far the strongest team, but they lack solidity; we’ll see if they improve over time.”

Inter and Napoli will face off in a crucial Serie A clash at the top of the table next weekend.
