In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, as noted by FCInter1908, the Inter Milan management holds the talented striker in high esteem.
Esposito completed his training at the Inter academy after moving from Brescia’s youth setup in 2014.
He debuted for the senior team in 2019 but went on to make just seven Serie A appearances at Meazza.
Throughout much of his time at Inter, Esposito has been a bit of a journeyman.
In fact, loan stints at SPAL, Venezia, Basel, Anderlecht, Bari, and Sampdoria were intended to provide him with valuable experience.
Moreover, they were meant to serve as a stepping stone for his return to the first team.
However, he has never been given a genuine chance to showcase his talent on the biggest stage.
As a result, when Inter loaned him to Empoli in the summer, many believed it marked the end of his time with the Nerazzurri.
However, Esposito’s camp is unwilling to accept that outcome.
Esposito’s Agent Hints at Possible Meazza Return
Esposito’s contract with Inter is set to expire in 2025.
Additionally, Empoli has a buyout clause that permits them to acquire the 22-year-old at the end of the season.
Given the young talent’s strong start at Stadio Carlo Castellani, it would be unexpected if they missed that chance.
In the meantime, his representative insists that Inter’s management still has faith in his client.
“He only has one year left on his contract, and Inter still believes in him,” the agent stated.
Esposito became the youngest Inter player to feature in a Champions League match since Beppe Bergomi in October 2019.
Additionally, the season before, he made history as the youngest player to participate in a European match for the club.
He is also the youngest Inter player to score in a Serie A match at San Siro, achieving this feat at just 17 years old.
Inter Star Reflects on Tough Start: “Everybody criticized me.”
In an interview set to air on the host’s YouTube and Spotify channels on October 17, as reported by FCInterNews, the small midfielder discussed his challenges at the beginning of the 2023/24 season.
Nicolo Barella has been a key presence for Inter since joining from Cagliari in 2019.
Regarded as one of the top players in his position in Europe, the 27-year-old has played a crucial role in Inter’s success in recent years.
He was the foundation of Antonio Conte’s midfield, driving the Nerazzurri to a long-awaited Scudetto in the 2020/21 season.
Along with aiding Inter in breaking a ten-year title drought in Serie A, Barella has secured five additional domestic titles at Meazza.
After clinching consecutive Coppa Italia trophies and three straight Supercoppa Italiana titles, Barella returned to the Serie A throne last season.
Nonetheless, the start of the season was challenging for the Italy international.
Barella Talks Tough Start to Scudetto-Winning Season
“It happened in the year of the Scudetto when everyone criticized me at the beginning of the season, saying that I was not the usual Barella,” he said.
“I lost the final of the European Under-19 Championship. I had to give up a World Cup with the national team’s youth team because I broke my hand, and my teammates finished third.
“Then I was relegated to Cagliari. I lost a Champions League final and lost a Europa League final: I know what it means to lose.
“On the other hand, I won championships, Coppa Italia, Super Cup, European Championship…
“It’s easier to explain what it means to win because you see that I’m exploding with joy.
“Losing you don’t know what it can entail later, maybe a bad summer, and it happened to me.
“It leads you to say: ‘Will I play in a Champions League final again?’ I don’t like losing. I would have liked to win all the finals I played, but it’s an incentive to try again the following year.
