Inter Offer Former Lazio Flop to Roma Amid Rabiot’s High Wage Demands

Inter Milan has proposed to Roma Joaquin Correa, who struggled during his previous stint with Lazio. Meanwhile, both Inter and Bayern Munich have been discouraged by Adrien Rabiot’s high wage demands, making his potential transfer less likely despite interest from various clubs.

Inter Milan Proposes Former Lazio Flop to Roma

According to FCInterNews, the Giallorossi might explore signing the 30-year-old, especially if Paulo Dybala departs.

Throughout much of this summer, it has seemed almost certain that Correa would join Inter.

The Argentine was on loan at Marseille for the previous season. Still, it didn’t score or provide any assists during his time with the Ligue 1 team.

The loan deal included a purchase obligation that would have taken effect if Marseille had qualified for the Champions League. However, they did not qualify.

As a result, Correa returned to Inter and was part of the squad throughout the preseason.

Correa’s preseason has been uneven, featuring a strong performance in the final friendly against Chelsea after some underwhelming showings in earlier matches.

Before his loan to Marseille, Correa struggled to find his form over two seasons with Inter, having joined from Lazio in the summer of 2021.

Inter’s Joaquin Correa, Out of Favor, Proposed to Roma

Recently, there has been speculation that Correa might remain at Inter and complete his contract.

This would have seemed unlikely, but Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is open to the idea, as it would provide additional attacking depth for the next season.

However, from the club’s viewpoint, they are eager to see Correa leave.

Inter understands that securing a substantial fee for him will be challenging given Correa’s contract situation.

However, if the Argentine departs, the Nerazzurri would save approximately €7 million in gross wages.

As a result, Inter is still hoping that Correa’s agent will find a resolution for him.

In the final days of the transfer window, a surprising opportunity might arise involving the city rivals of Correa’s former club, Lazio.

FCIN reports that the 30-year-old’s agent, Alessandro Lucci, has been in discussions with Roma.

Giallorossi coach Daniele De Rossi is interested in the idea and plans to sign at least one additional forward before the transfer window closes.

Paulo Dybala’s potential departure from the Italian capital could facilitate a surprise move involving Correa.

Inter Milan and Bayern Munich Deterred by Ex-Juventus and PSG Star’s Excessive Wage Demands

According to French outlet L’Equipe and FCInterNews, the 29-year-old demands €7.5 million net per season.

Rabiot is likely the most notable player in Europe currently without a team.

The Frenchman concluded a five-year tenure at Juventus this summer after failing to reach a new contract agreement with the Bianconeri.

Last summer, Rabiot faced a similar situation but ultimately agreed with Juventus on a one-season contract extension.

However, the issue was postponed, and that short-term deal expires at the end of June.

Although Juventus was open to retaining Rabiot as part of new coach Thiago Motta’s project, negotiations for a new contract with the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder ultimately fell through.

Inter and Bayern Discouraged by Adrien Rabiot’s Wage Demands

As a result, Rabiot has been searching for a new club this summer.

L’Equipe reports that the French international is targeting a move to a club that participates in the Champions League.

There has been plenty of interest in securing Rabiot’s signature.

Within Serie A, AC Milan had considered signing the former Juventus player.

Inter is accustomed to high-profile free transfer signings. This summer, they brought in both Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski through this method.

L’Equipe reports Inter is one of the clubs most seriously contemplating a surprise move for Rabiot.

The French outlet expects the other club, considering Rabiot, to be the German giants Bayern.

Even though Rabiot wouldn’t incur a transfer fee this summer, the issue of his wages remains.

L’Equipe reports that Rabiot is insisting on a salary of €7.5 million net per season.

L’Equipe reports that both Inter and Bayern have hesitated at that salary figure.
