Inter's Future Key Defensive Strategy and Stadium Update

Inter Milan is gearing up for significant changes as they plan for the future. With a focus on strengthening their defense, the club is looking to implement a key defensive strategy next summer to enhance their squad’s performance. Additionally, developments surrounding their new stadium project are underway, with landowners in Rozzano providing updates on feasibility studies and exclusive rights agreements. This dual approach reflects Inter’s commitment to improving their team on the pitch and securing a modern venue for their fans. As the club navigates these critical areas, fans are eager to see how these strategies will unfold in the coming months.

Inter Plans Key Defensive Strategy for Next Summer

Inter aims to get younger next year based on Oaktree’s guidance. Since the takeover, they have only signed Tomas Palacios. The management and Simone Inzaghi would have preferred to add more experienced players.

TuttoSport reports that the Nerazzurri will make changes to their defense. Francesco Acerbi, aged 37, and Stefan De Vrij, 33, both have contracts that run until 2025. Still, there hasn’t been much urgency regarding their renewals. This may be a directive from higher management.

Only one of them will probably remain at Inter next season. The Italian veteran continues to perform well despite his age. At the same time, the Dutchman has considered a move abroad in recent years.

The Nerazzurri have mainly targeted Jaka Bijol for the role, but they must spend to acquire him. Udinese is set to sign a potential replacement, Oumar Solet, soon, possibly in preparation for the eventual departure of their star player.

The Scudetto holders are also targeting additional players, including Giorgio Scalvini and Perr Schuurs, who are currently sidelined with ACL injuries. They are also considering Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah, whose contract expires this summer, along with PSV’s Olivier Boscagli and Valencia’s Yarek Gasiorowski, both of whom were targets last summer.

Update on Inter’s New Stadium Plans: Rozzano Landowners Share Details

The landowners in Rozzano, where Inter Milan is contemplating constructing their new stadium, have shared an update on the current feasibility studies. The Brioschi-Cabassi group, which owns the land, disclosed information regarding the exclusive rights agreement with Inter and possible alternative plans.

In their financial report, the real estate company revealed that Inter’s exclusive rights to assess the Rozzano site have been extended. “On July 28, 2023, Infrafin granted FC Internazionale Milano S.p.A. a paid exclusive right until April 30, 2024, to explore the possibility of constructing a stadium and related functions within the Rozzano property. After April 30, 2024, Infrafin S.r.l. Provided FC Internazionale Milano S.p.A. with a new paid exclusive right until January 31, 2025, for the same purposes,” the report indicated.

The financial implications of this agreement were also emphasized: “The income from investments in affiliates, amounting to 0.9 million euros compared to 3.3 million euros as of June 30, 2023, is linked to the valuations of investments in the Fleur’s Fund and Camabo. These reflect the positive outcomes from the real estate vehicle that acquired the ‘U1’ and ‘U3’ properties in Milanofiori Nord and the economic effects related to the semester of the exclusive agreements with FC Internazionale Milano S.p.A.”

Looking forward, the landowners shared their perspectives on upcoming developments: “With reference to the southern sector of the Milanofiori area, for which an urban planning variant to the PGT was published in March 2024, by existing agreements, FC Internazionale Milano S.p.A will continue to verify the feasibility of building a stadium and some accessory functions within the area and, in parallel, investigations regarding hypotheses for the development of alternative projects.”
