Juventus is close to securing the signing of Teun Koopmeiners, with a deal expected to be finalized next week. At the same time, they are renewing their pursuit of Jadon Sancho, though his high salary remains a significant obstacle. The club is working to address these challenges as it pushes to complete both transfers before the window closes.
Juventus anticipates finalizing the deal for Koopmeiners next week
Italian reports suggest that Juventus anticipates completing the signing of Teun Koopmeiners next week, with a transfer fee of around €60 million.
Juventus are pressing to acquire Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, who has been training separately from his teammates for several days.
The Dutch midfielder is eager to relocate to Turin, but Atalanta still needs to approve the transfer.
Gazzetta and Tuttosport report that Koopmeiners won’t join Juventus before next week’s match against Hellas Verona.
However, the Bianconeri still anticipate completing the signing of the Dutch midfielder before the Italian summer transfer window closes on Friday, August 30.
Atalanta’s asking price for Koopmeiners is €60 million. Still, according to Tuttosport, Juventus will come close to meeting this by offering €50 million and €6-7 million in add-ons.
Gazzetta confirms that Juventus has no ‘plan B’ and is focused solely on signing Koopmeiners as their midfield reinforcement this summer.
The Bianconeri also aim to add at least one attacking winger, with Nico Gonzalez, Jadon Sancho, and Francisco Conceiçao among their targets.
Juventus Renew Their Complex Pursuit of Sancho
Juventus have resumed their pursuit of Jadon Sancho, a player they’ve been interested in throughout the summer despite the challenging circumstances for a deal. The Bianconeri could strengthen their position to make an offer if they offload some surplus players, particularly Federico Chiesa and Filip Kostic, who also operate on the wings.
According to Mirko Di Natale of Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus contacted the player’s representatives on Thursday. Still, they have not yet spoken with Manchester United. A significant hurdle is his salary, which stands at €14 million net, surpassing even Dusan Vlahovic’s earnings.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus are contemplating a loan offer for Sancho with a €40 million mandatory buy option based on certain conditions. Manchester United paid €85 million to acquire him from Borussia Dortmund three years ago. While the Red Devils are open to keeping him, especially after he reconciled with coach Erik Ten Hag following last season’s issues, his role might be limited. He only played seven minutes in the season opener.
The Bianconeri must engage in further discussions with Fiorentina to secure Nico Gonzalez. Fiorentina’s director, Alessandro Ferrari, addressed the matter with Sky before the Conference League playoff.
“There are eight days left in the windows. At this stage, there aren’t the conditions to complete the deal. We don’t necessarily have to sell him, and we’re very happy with him.”
Jadon Sancho’s salary remains a challenge for Juventus
Sancho was omitted from the squad for Manchester United’s win over Fulham last week and remains far from a guaranteed starter.
The Premier League giants are open to reasonable offers for Sancho, and Juventus are actively preparing to make a move for him in the final week of the transfer window.
The Serie A giants have been monitoring the winger throughout the summer and are looking to finalize a deal for him in the coming days.
Italian outlet TuttoJuve reports that Juventus contacted Sancho’s representatives on Thursday to negotiate a potential deal.
Juventus remain concerned about Sancho’s hefty €14 million annual salary at Old Trafford.
His current salary continues to be a major obstacle in completing a deal to bring him to Turin.
Juventus aims to resolve the situation in the next few days as they push to sign the Manchester United star before next Friday’s transfer deadline.
