Juventus Seeks Defensive Replacements as Outcast Decides

Juventus is currently navigating a challenging situation following Gleison Bremer’s injury, prompting the club to seek defensive reinforcements. With limited options available, manager Thiago Motta is exploring potential transfers, including players like Milan Skriniar and Ardian Ismajli, while also considering internal solutions. Meanwhile, an outcast from the squad is faced with exciting opportunities in both Europe and North America, as clubs like Olympique Marseille and Los Angeles FC vie for his signature. As Juventus works to strengthen its defense, the future of its unsettled star remains uncertain.

Juventus Seeks Defensive Options to Replace Injured Bremer

Juventus is facing a defensive crisis after Gleison Bremer’s season-ending knee injury. The club is now actively searching for a replacement, with Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntoli evaluating various options for the January transfer window.

Calciomercato reports that Milan Skriniar has become a fan favorite and a strong candidate for the position. Despite his history with Inter Milan, Skriniar’s experience and skill make him a compelling choice. Giuntoli has suggested that the club is interested in pursuing such “opportunities,” and Skriniar’s current unhappiness at Paris Saint-Germain could pave the way for a transfer.

The need for reinforcements is evident, as manager Thiago Motta has only limited choices with Federico Gatti and Pierre Kalulu, while Juan Cabal and Danilo serve as backups. Short-term fixes, such as moving Manuel Locatelli or Savona, are not considered viable long-term solutions.

Although Sergio Ramos is no longer an option, Giuntoli’s list includes Jakub Kiwior, whom Motta coached at Spezia. Kiwior’s potential departure from Arsenal makes him an appealing candidate. Maxence Lacroix from Wolfsburg is still under consideration, but he might not align with the “opportunity” Juventus is looking for.

Ardian Ismajli from Empoli is another player being watched, potentially providing a more attainable option. Interestingly, Juventus is also considering an internal solution, with Thiago Motta keeping a close eye on the development of Pedro Felipe from the Next Gen squad, which is in line with the manager’s track record of nurturing young talent.

Juventus Outcast to Choose Between Two Exciting Options

Juventus star Paul Pogba is close to making his return to the pitch after the Court of Arbitration for Sport lightened his sentence. Calciomercato reports that his future now depends on choices in Europe and North America, with Olympique Marseille and Los Angeles FC reportedly competing for his signature.

Pogba is set to return to action at the beginning of 2025. However, his future appears to be away from the Allianz Stadium, as reports indicate that Juventus is in talks with his representatives to terminate the 31-year-old’s contract. Despite his high profile in football, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has frequently found himself at the center of controversy.

It seems that Juventus officials have reached their limit. The record-setting Italian champions are eager to part ways with Pogba before the January transfer window, allowing their unsettled star to find a new club quickly. Despite his prolonged absence affecting his reputation, Pogba still has the opportunity to revive his career outside of Turin.

As Juventus tirelessly works to release the towering midfielder, Marseille and Los Angeles are waiting in the wings.

Valentin Carboni’s season-ending injury has put Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi in a difficult position with limited reliable options in midfield. The Argentine is expected to return to his parent club Inter in the coming weeks for treatment as the French club aims to terminate his loan agreement.

De Zerbi appears ready to give Pogba a chance to fill the gap in his lineup. However, LAFC might disrupt his plans. After bringing in stars like Gareth Bale and Giorgio Chiellini previously, the MLS club is keen to add another high-profile player to their roster.

A transfer abroad would allow Pogba to reunite with his fellow countryman, Olivier Giroud.
