Juventus Sidelines Chiesa; Contract Terminations on the Horizon

Juventus is making significant and urgent adjustments to their team in a bid to recover their investments. Federico Chiesa, a key player, has been swiftly moved out of the first team and is now training with players who are not in the main squad. This rapid change underscores the pressing need for Juventus to find a new club for Chiesa before he might leave for free. Simultaneously, the club is actively considering ending contracts with other players by mutual agreement. Mattia De Sciglio is expected to be one of those players due to his injuries and lack of interest from other teams. Juventus is working with a sense of urgency to manage their team and reduce financial losses.

Juventus sidelines Chiesa: Training Ban Imposed and Urgent Sale Requested

Juventus and Federico Chiesa are at a breaking point. The former Fiorentina star has been dropped from the first team and is no longer training with his teammates. Instead, he’s working with the surplus players.

According to Calciomercato, this decision represents a major change in Juventus’ approach. Initially, the club tried a gentler method, allowing Chiesa to train with the main squad even though he was on the transfer market. This was a sign of respect for Chiesa’s abilities and a way to keep him motivated despite the transfer talks. However, with the transfer window closing in, Juventus has taken a tougher stance, with Chiesa training separately from the first team.

The message is straightforward: Chiesa must secure a new club soon or face being sidelined for the entire season. With his contract running until 2025, he will unlikely follow Szczesny’s path and terminate his deal. Instead, Juventus is anticipated to lower their asking price to approximately €15 million in the final two weeks of the transfer window.

This situation might allow interested clubs to sign a young, fit player keen to make an impact. Although there have been offers from both Italian and international teams, Chiesa’s salary expectations have been a hurdle. Currently earning €5 million a year, he is looking for a salary of at least €6 million annually. This demand is based on his performance and potential, but it has made negotiations more challenging for potential buyers.

Juventus is eager to swiftly resolve the situation to prevent the possibility of losing Chiesa for free. By January 2025, Chiesa could agree to a pre-contract with another club, allowing him to leave on a free transfer in July. Considering their substantial investment in the player, this potential outcome is particularly concerning for Juventus, as it could have a significant impact on the team’s future.

The club is actively pushing for a quick sale to recover part of their investment. Meanwhile, Chiesa appears to have his own agenda—acknowledging the need to move on but aiming to do so on his own terms. Despite this, Juventus is determined to manage the situation effectively and in their best interests.

Another Juventus player might choose to end their contract by mutual agreement

Juventus aims to offload several first-team players, but the club recognizes that they might need to terminate some contracts mutually.

After securing a compensation agreement, one player has already departed the club, and others may follow suit.

Mattia De Sciglio will likely be the next player to leave in this manner. Recurring injuries over several seasons have hindered his efforts to attract buyers.

Juve has rarely seen him play, making it clear that a move is necessary. However, interest in him has been limited, with only Monza expressing some interest weeks ago.

That option has faded, and according to Tuttomercatoweb, Juve might now explore terminating his contract by mutual agreement.

The Bianconeri are willing to release him with compensation, likely at a lower cost than the gross wages they would have to pay if he stayed at the club for another year.

Juve FC Says

“De Sciglio has been inactive for us for some time and has to leave, so we need to do what we can to make that happen.”

“If we keep him, the defender will not play enough games, which is why clubs have not shown serious interest in his signature lately.”
