Juventus Signs Genoa Teen; Miretti’s Transfer and New Deal Update

Juventus is on the brink of a significant shift, with a young player from Genoa potentially replacing Fabio Miretti. Amidst these potential changes, Miretti is also in line for a new contract with Juventus, a move that could redefine his role at the club. This shift comes after a period of uncertainty about Miretti’s future, but now he seems to be on the path to a renewed role at Juventus, as the team bolsters its ranks with new talent.

Juventus is set to sign a Genoa teen, with Miretti possibly going the other way

There’s a potential transfer in the works for Juventus’ Fabio Miretti, who is considering a move to Genoa. On the other hand, Christos Papadopoulos is expected to make a move in the opposite direction, joining Juventus in Turin.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, via JuventusNews24, Miretti is carefully weighing his options as Genoa expresses interest in him. This uncertainty makes the player’s future more interesting.

The 21-year-old has been with Juventus since childhood and was promoted from the Next Gen squad to the first team in April 2022, a journey that Juventus fans can take pride in.

The young midfielder has experienced highs and lows since then but displayed promising form under Thiago Motta during pre-season—until he picked up an injury.

Miretti is still highly valued by the management. Still, with Weston McKennie returning and Teun Koopmeiners seemingly heading to Turin, he might need help finding playing time this season.

Genoa has been eyeing the midfielder for a while, and the Roman newspaper reports that he is currently considering moving to Luigi Ferraris or staying at Continassa.

Meanwhile, JuventusNews24 suggests that Papadopoulos’ transfer from Genoa to Juventus looks much more likely.

The 19-year-old Greek attacking midfielder has honed his skills in Genoa’s youth system since 2022.

The source reports that the two clubs have agreed on a transfer deal for the Larisa native, who will join Juventus on loan with an option to buy at the season’s end.

Papadopoulos will join Paolo Montero’s Next Gen squad, where he will have the opportunity to play professional football in Serie C.

From being left out to securing a new contract – the Juventus midfielder undergoes a significant turnaround

After spending the summer on the sidelines, Weston McKennie has managed to work his way back into the Juventus squad, a return that brings hope to the fans.

Upon his return from summer vacation, the American was deemed surplus to requirements, as Thiago Motta felt he didn’t fit his style of play.

As a result, the 25-year-old, along with Federico Chiesa, Filip Kostić, Arthur Melo, and Mattia De Sciglio, was excluded from pre-season preparations.

However, while the other sidelined players remain out of favor, Motta confirmed in his pre-match press conference yesterday that McKennie will be called up for the season’s opening Serie A match against Como.

Interestingly, the USMNT star began the previous season in a similar situation but regained Max Allegri’s trust. However, that turnaround happened earlier in the summer.

However, more might come, as Tuttosport (via IlBianconero) reports that the midfielder is also expected to sign a new contract.

McKennie’s current contract expires at the end of the season, and discussions about extending it have been not easy.

The club attempted to include the player in a swap deal with Douglas Luiz for Aston Villa, but he could not agree on personal terms with the Villains.

The former Schalke player joined the Bianconeri in the summer of 2020. His tenure in Turin has been full of ups and downs. Still, he emerged as one of the club’s most reliable performers last season, delivering ten assists.
