Juventus Striker Stays Despite Genoa Offer; Kalulu Nears Move from Milan

Juventus striker is committed to remaining at the club despite interest from Genoa. At the same time, the team is close to signing Pierre Kalulu from Milan. The defender’s move is imminent, adding depth to Juventus’s squad.

Juventus striker is determined to regain his place in the team, despite an offer from Genoa

Juventus striker Arkadiusz Milik has attracted interest from Genoa. Yet, he remains resolute in securing a position in Thiago Motta’s squad.

The 30-year-old joined Juventus in the summer of 2022 on loan from Olympique Marseille. Last summer, the Serie A giants made his transfer permanent.

However, after Motta arrived in Turin, the Polish striker, his fellow countryman Wojciech Szczesny, and several other players, such as Federico Chiesa, were sidelined.

These players have been excluded from the squad during the club’s pre-season friendlies.

While Szczesny may still need to regain a spot in the squad since Michele Di Gregorio has already taken his place, Milik might still have a chance. The club still needs to find a backup for Dusan Vlahovic, which could work in Milik’s favor.

Christino Giuntoli and his team are currently focused on acquiring players such as Teun Koopmeiners, Nicolas Gonzalez, and potentially a new defender. As a result, bringing in a backup striker may not be a top priority for the club right now.

According to La Repubblica via TuttoJuve, Milik remains determined to be reinstated into Motta’s squad.

The former Napoli player has emerged as a transfer target for Genoa. Genoa needs a new striker after Mateo Retegui’s move to Atalanta.

However, Milik would prefer to keep his place in Turin rather than move to Genoa.

On the other hand, according to the source, Genoa might find it easier to secure Juventus Next Gen defender Tarik Muharemovic, who is expected to leave in search of more playing time.

Juventus on the Verge of Signing Milan Defender

Juventus are looking for a defender after missing out on Jean-Clair Todibo and Riccardo Calafiori and have now turned their attention to Pierre Kalulu. With Strahinja Pavlovic joining Milan, Kalulu will unlikely see regular playing time there.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the French defender is currently out of stock. Still, the Rossoneri might entertain offers for a permanent transfer. The player has shown interest in Juventus’s pursuit.

Juventus have offered to acquire Kalulu on an initial loan with an option to buy. They would pay €3.5 million upfront, an additional €14 million due in a year, plus €3 million in potential add-ons and a 10 percent resale clause.

According to Calciomercato, the young defender is enthusiastic about the move. At Milan, he contends with Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia, Malick Thiaw, and the new arrival for a spot in the lineup. His agent has strongly advocated for the transfer, which may include an obligation to buy.

The 24-year-old has been with San Siro since 2020, having moved from Olympique Lyon for a modest fee. He has made 112 appearances for the club. However, he played only 11 matches last season due to various injuries. He is contracted until 2027 and earns €2 million per year.

Pierre Kalulu is set to transfer from Milan to Juventus

Italian reports indicate that Juventus have finalized the acquisition of Pierre Kalulu from AC Milan. The deal, concluded recently, is a loan arrangement with an option to buy the French defender. Juventus will pay €3 million for the loan during the 2024/25 season, with the opportunity to secure the transfer permanently next summer for an extra €14 million.

According to Calciomercato, Sky Sport Italia, and other sources, the deal was finalized today. Despite struggling with injuries in the 2023/24 season, Kalulu has agreed to the move. This transfer is crucial for Juventus as they aim to bolster their defensive lineup. Milan’s decision to loan Kalulu to a direct competitor highlights their current transfer priorities, centered on bringing in a midfielder and a striker.

The transfer is considered a strategic move for Juventus, adding a skilled and versatile defender to their roster. Meanwhile, Milan is preparing to address the gap created by Kalulu’s departure.
