Juventus Transfer News: Koopmeiners, Djaló Requests Move, Outcast May Retire

Juventus is experiencing significant transfer activity. Teun Koopmeiners was left out of Atalanta’s squad amid ongoing discussions about his move to the club. Tiago Djaló has submitted a transfer request to join Juventus, while a current Juventus outcast is considering retirement this summer if a suitable offer doesn’t materialize.

Teun Koopmeiners left out of Atalanta squad as Juventus transfer discussions heat up

Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners has been excluded from Atalanta’s UEFA Super Cup final squad against Real Madrid in Warsaw. This move highlights his diminished role at the club amid his push for a transfer to Juventus. Koopmeiners has reportedly submitted a medical certificate to Atalanta to smooth his transfer process, having already agreed to a contract worth €4.5 million net per season with Juventus.

Calciomercato reports that negotiations between Atalanta and Juventus for the midfielder have been tense. Atalanta requested €60 million for the transfer, while Juventus proposed €55 million plus bonuses, but the deal remains unfinalized. Atalanta is eager to quickly resolve the situation and find a replacement, with Matt O’Riley of Celtic Glasgow as a potential option.

Juventus must also raise funds for this major transfer by selling some players. Both clubs are keen to finalize the deal, with Atalanta setting a deadline for mid-August. The situation is still unfolding, with Koopmeiners eager to join Juventus and the club keen to strengthen their midfield with his addition.

Tiago Djaló submits transfer request to join Juventus

Juventus is nearly finalizing a deal for French defender Pierre Kalulu from AC Milan. This quick development follows Juventus missing out on other defensive targets like Riccardo Calafiori and Jean-Clair Todibo. The agreement with Milan was reached rapidly, and the transfer is anticipated to be completed soon.

As Juventus prepares to bring in Kalulu, they also want to offload Daniele Rugani. The Italian defender is in discussions with Ajax, who need to sell a defender before finalizing the move and has also received an offer from Al-Ain, managed by Hernan Crespo.

Meanwhile, Calciomercato reports that Tiago Djaló, another defender at Juventus, has requested a transfer. Djaló, who joined the club last January, had limited playing time, making only a 15-minute appearance in the Serie A the previous season. After recovering from a major injury, he has fallen out of favor and was not included in the squad for a recent friendly against Brest.

Juventus is exploring options for Djaló, possibly considering a loan move to help him regain match fitness. Although Italian clubs initially expressed interest, a move abroad now seems more likely. One possibility is including Djaló in a deal with Porto, as Juventus is interested in players such as Galeno or Conceição. As the transfer window continues, Juventus aims to finalize these moves to enhance its squad and balance its roster.

Juventus outcast may consider retiring this summer

Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny needs help finding an appealing new home. He might choose to retire sooner rather than later.

At 34, he has been one of the club’s most dependable players since joining in 2017. He established himself as a regular starter in 2018, following Gianluigi Buffon’s initial departure.

Although the legendary Italian goalkeeper continued his career until age 45, the Polish keeper has already indicated that he does not wish to stay in the sport for an extended period.

Tuttosport reports that Szczesny might contemplate retirement this summer, mainly if he doesn’t receive a compelling offer to continue his career.

At 34, he has become one of the club’s surplus players following the arrival of Michele Di Gregorio.

Despite the club’s decision to let him go, Szczesny has kept his composure, affirming his loyalty and accepting the management’s choices without complaint.

As a result, they might choose to end their contract early and go their separate ways, which would free the club from paying the goalkeeper’s high salary of 6.5 million euros per year.

Suppose the former Arsenal and Roma player doesn’t find a new opportunity that rekindles his enthusiasm. In that case, he might retire from football and pursue a different career path.

The Polish international has been linked with Monza and clubs in the Saudi Pro League. However, no firm offers have yet to materialize.
