Milan’s Issues: Nasti, Scuffet, and Midfield Needs

Milan is currently facing a series of challenges. Marco Nasti’s future remains unclear as discussions with Cremonese are still ongoing, and Scuffet and Cagliari have shown dissatisfaction with Milan’s offer. Additionally, while the team has brought in new players, it still lacks a strong defensive presence in midfield. This gap has been noticeable since Kessie and Tonali left the club. Milan must address these issues to strengthen its squad and improve its performance.

Milan’s strategy for Nasti is up in the air with ongoing discussions with Cremonese

The Rossoneri have an impressive group of young attacking talents right now. Because of this, some players might be moved on before they get a chance to shine, and Marco Nasti could be one of them.

Last season, the striker netted seven goals and provided two assists in Serie B. Significant interest in him has been reported this summer, but Milan doesn’t seem keen on keeping the player.

At 20 years old, Nasti has displayed potential for future growth. Still, an exit seems likely, with no room in the senior squad and Francesco Camarda being the top choice at the youth level.

Today, Gazzetta dello Sport (via Milan News) reported that the coming week could be pivotal for Nasti’s future, with potential developments expected. Cremonese is interested in him and is considered one of the top contenders for signing the striker.

The report also indicates that a sale is likely, and the Rossoneri plan to include a percentage clause in the deal to secure a stake in his future success.

Scuffet and Cagliari are reportedly not impressed with Milan’s offer

Milan’s injury troubles over the past year have been almost laughable, and things got worse with Sportiello’s strange injury. The goalkeeper cut his hand before the friendly against Manchester City and will now be out for a few months.

Given this, the Diavolo had two choices: find a replacement through the transfer market or promote someone from the youth setup. The latter has become the more favored option, especially with Lorenzo Torriani making a strong impression during pre-season.

Another possibility was Simone Scuffet, but this option might now be off the table. Corriere dello Sport (via Milan News) reports that both the goalkeeper and his club, Cagliari, are not convinced by Milan’s offer.

Initially, Diavolo planned to loan the goalkeeper a higher salary. Still, the offer has yet to convince either side, particularly Scuffet, who is reluctant to give up his starting role to become a backup.

Milan’s midfield needs a strong defender, despite the new ideas and big names

It’s hard to say precisely when Milan realized they needed a new midfielder. However, ongoing injury issues and a lack of stability made it clear that this area required attention over the summer.

The plan was developed before Paulo Fonseca arrived. Still, since the Portuguese coach wanted to strengthen the squad, it aligned well with the plan. The Rossoneri then began searching for candidates, and now we’re at this point.

Unfortunately, there has been no progress on acquiring a midfielder so far, especially with the Diavolo facing difficulties in their pursuit of Youssouf Fofana. Although the French midfielder is open to the move, an agreement with Monaco has yet to be reached.

According to La Repubblica (via Milan News), the transfer market has been positive. Still, there is a significant concern: the absence of a new midfielder. The report notes that Milan needs a player to defend and balance the team. This issue is not new, as the team has been missing this type of quality since Kessie and Tonali left.
